Hello Fellow Insomniacs

In an aim to get more members to www.insomniachat247.com I have created a page on Facebook. Please help us promote the site by liking the page and I will also try and promote it in insomnia groups.

We need more members so that like minded people with the same issues and problems with insomnia are on the instant chat when we can't sleep.

So please help me promote the site, i will also be using social bookmarking sites and networks. :-)

You should see the like box to the right --------------------------->>>>>>>>>>

But if not it will also be below.

Cheers

OMG

Can't sleep for weeks now, so I am just starting to stay up when its starts hitting 5 am. Gotta get my son up for school at 6 am anyway...I am so miserable, this has been going on for weeks like this. I try not to nap so I can sleep the next night and the same thing happens again. Have had about 6 hours sleep in 4 days. I am so tired during the day and starting to get really irritable, headaches, nausea, and no appetite. Can you die from lack of sleep? I have tried Ambien, Lunesta and over the counter sleeping pills to no avail. Have had this problem on and off for years but lately its getting unbearable...I have also tried deep breathing, hot baths, classical music, relaxation cd's and nothing, not a wink...I wish someone could help me.

Hi Tracey,

Welcome to insomnia chat. Have you tried making yourself physically and mentally tired, through excercise and something mentally challenging like learning another language. Doesn't always work but can make a difference.

I also sometimes listen to talk radio which can help if they are having a really interesting discussion, i find when i get really interested and start thinking about the subject I end up nodding off lol.

Meditation can help but not when you are exhausted then it becomes hard work. But if you try and spend 15 minutes a day meditating it can help generally. This doesn't have to be sat crossed legged humming to yourself it could just be going for a walk somewhere nice and sitting for awhile in a nice spot taking in the scene or sit somewhere like a coffee shop doing nothing but taking in the world as it passes you by.

Yoga is good as it helps with the excercise, your breathing and your meditation.

The only other answer I have found is drink but that's no answer. I have tried sleeping tablets but they never do anything but make me feel groggy in the morning.

I have had insomnia for around 15 years, sometimes cronic, sometimes mild, sometimes weeks can go by and I will be fine. I have gotten used to living my life during the day in a bit of a daze.

If you have insomnia try to do something with the hours when you can't sleep. I tend to work or play. I have starting gaming online on my PS3, sad I know but it concentrates the mind and relieves the tension.

I hope you get some rest tonight and over the next few days. Keep in touch and keep us posted on your progress.

All the best

Vincent
